MEDICAL EXPERIENCE

Beth Israel Lahey Health - Boston, MA

Birthing Unit

A new Birthing Unit of approximately 8,530 Sq. Ft. which included a new visitor friendly entry, new triage bays and better staffing stations to oversee them, and a family waiting room that was within the secure area.  The final design allowed the new triage area to connect directly to the LDR.  This new connection created a single point of entry to the floor, so the suite greeter is the first thing visitors encountered.  Two new exam rooms were created to off load the use of the triage rooms, space for private family consults was added next to the waiting area and a new LDR room. This room was designed to accommodate a large labor tub which was an added amenity to the midwife program. Full services were provided on this project which included programming, architectural and interior design, and construction administration.
